Man Tragically Dies While Proposing To Girlfriend Underwater

Sad news has emerged, a Louisiana man has horrifically drowned while proposing to his girlfriend underwater.

Kenesha Antoine shared the awful news on facebook and even the video of the proposal which sees her boyfriend, Steven Weber Jr. swimming underwater towards her and holding up a hand written note.

The couple were holidaying in Tanzania when the tragic incident happened.

Steven had placed the note in a water-tight ziplocked bag, and it read:

“I can’t hold my breath long enough to tell you everything I love about you. But…everything I love about you I love more every day!”

On the other side of the note, Weber asked Antoine to marry him.

Antoine says yes to his proposal as shown in the video, before Weber swims out of the frame.

We aren’t entirely sure why Steven then drowned or what caused it.

A U.S. State Department official said on Friday that they were ‘aware of reports of the death of a U.S. citizen in Tanzania’.

The official said:

“We offer our sincerest condolences to the family on their loss. We stand ready to provide all appropriate consular assistance.”

Antoine wrote an incredibly heartfelt tribute to Steven on her Facebook profile, saying:

“There are no words adequate enough to honor the beautiful soul that is Steven Weber, Jr. You were a bright light to everyone you encountered.

“You never met a stranger, and you brought so much joy to so many people. You were kind, compassionate, you regularly made me cry with laughter, and you showered me with a love like none I’d ever experienced.”

Antoine said that Steven ‘never emerged from those depths’ which means he never got to hear her answer which was:

“Yes! Yes! A million times, yes, I will marry you.”

She added:

“We never got to embrace and celebrate the beginning of the rest of our lives together, as the best day of our lives turned into the worst, in the cruelest twist of fate imaginable.

“I will try to take solace in the fact that we enjoyed the most amazing bucket list experiences these past few days, and that we both were so happy and absolutely giddy with excitement in our final moments together.”

Branding Steven as her ‘perfect love’ she added: “I love you so much, and I always will.”

RIP Steven.
