Las Vegas Metropolitan Police have released footage of a 93-year-old man shooting his apartment manager reportedly over… water damage.
In a press briefing Monday, Assistant Sheriff Brett Zimmerman unveiled the unbelievable video, which showed the elderly man calmly walking into the apartment complex manager’s office before shooting him twice.
Thomas was reportedly upset his apartment had flooded and blamed management staff, decided to use a Glock 9mm to make his point.
CCTV footage shows him walking into the office on January 2, wearing a black coat and hat, and talking to the manager and his assistant. Seconds later he removes a handgun from his inside pocket, making a female assistant to call the police.
Taking no notice, Thomas then fires a warning shot at the wall. Another staff member can be seen in the foreground making a panicked exit.
After allowing the female staff member to leave, he aims the gun at the manager and fires a round straight into his leg, making him collapse onto the floor.
Not quite done, Thomas then stands over him and allows him to writhe around in pain for a few sordid seconds before taking aim and firing a second round into his other leg.
Moments later an armed officer arrives at the scene, ordering him to drop the gun. The cop fires a round through the glass door, prompting Thomas to place his gun on the desk before the officer piles in and pulls him to the floor, arresting him.
Luckily for Thomas the bullet fired by the officer went straight through his lapel but never touched him.
He was charged with attempted murder with a deadly weapon, kidnapping with a deadly weapon, discharging a firearm within a structure, burglary with a firearm and carrying a concealed weapon, according to Fox5.
The apartment manager was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
According to prosecutors, Thomas told police that he would do it again. He told the court that he didn’t want to kill the victim, just “mess him up a little.” Jeez.
