Wendy Williams has been bathing in hot water a lot recently.
First there were her comments on Joaquin Phoenix’s cleft lip, then there was her alleged fart live on TV, and now well a lot of people are saying she’s been downright homophobic and transphobic.
The comments in question were said on what I presume was intended to be a light-hearted discussion on Valentine’s Day, which is, as you all know, today.

Speaking to the audience, Wendy asked who would be celebrating Galentine’s Day – in case you didn’t know, that’s what they call it on Parks and Rec.
She then called out a man for clapping along, and said:
Well, first of all, if you’re a man and you’re clapping, you’re not even a part of this. You don’t even understand the rules of the day. It’s women going out and getting saucy and then going back home. You’re not a part.
I don’t care if you’re gay.

Williams then went on about how gay men don’t have periods and thus cannot be the same as a woman.
You can do a lot that we do, but I get offended by the idea that we go through something you will never go through.
However it’s what Williams said next that has caused the serious outrage.
She said:
And stop wearing our skirts and our heels. Just sayin’ girls, what do we have for ourselves?
Many viewed the comment as a direct attack on the LGBTQ+ community.
#WendyWilliams trying to alienate the gay community when they are some of her biggest supporters. Oh dear. pic.twitter.com/ukVgemXO2e

One person tweeted:
What sort of ignorance is coming out of your mouth regarding gay men wanting to be women!! Really Wendy?
If #WendyWilliams is so offended by us then why was she on OUR float at NYC Pride? pic.twitter.com/uKI7B9Sclp

#WendyWilliams going on an anti #trans rant for no good reason. Whining about periods as though periods are what’s most important about women.
Oh dear.
