‘Laurel- you were always smiling and always made other people laugh. I’m so incredibly grateful that I got to know you. You will never be forgotten, and we will never stop loving you. ‘Everybody in the Once Family is going to keep you alive through us. R.I.P. My heart goes to her family.’

Her grandfather, David Rivlin, wrote on Facebook: “I want to share with you, a poem she wrote to her friend . Laurel was a scholar more than an actress and society can only dream of what a difference she would have made if her life continued. Keep her in your prayers.”

Griggs tells her friend: “Don’t change the way you look, you act, you feel. … Don’t be someone else even though some days you will feel like you need to be.”

She goes on to say that “no one is perfect” and “being yourself is good enough.”
