Greta Thunberg Called a Time-Traveler After 120-Year-Old Pic Goes Viral

Greta Thunberg is undoubtedly one of the most talked-about people of the year. Alongside scowling at Donald Trump, borrowing cars from Arnold Schwarzenegger, and hanging out with Leonardi DiCaprio, she also became to youngest person ever to be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. Phew.

But aside from her incredible work in 2019, conspiracy theorists have noticed something strange. An image from the University of Washington Archives depicting children working in Dominion Creek in the Yukon Territory in Canada had an oddly familiar face.

To the far right of the picture, there was a girl who bears a striking resemblance to the teen activist. She even shares Thunberg’s signature braided hairstyle.

As soon as people started noticing the resemblance, conspiracy theories abounded. “So, ‘Greta Thunberg’ is in a photo from 120 years ago, and it’s my new favorite conspiracy. Greta’s a time traveler, from the future, and she’s here to save us,” wrote one enthusiastic Twitter user. “That has to be photoshopped surely, they’re identical,” laughed another.

But some took the theory a step further. Perhaps Thunberg is here, now, because she’s chosen to be – knowing this time period is absolutely key in terms of the future of the universe. Either way, our brains hurt!
