At 18 years old, Billie Eilish is one of the biggest music stars on the planet.
But cast her music to one side for a moment, as Billie is also very well known for her fashion – typically, extremely baggy clothes, which hide her figure.
However, recently Billie was pictured wearing clothes that weren’t particularly baggy and after seeing her real body, Billie was subjected to a torrent of abuse alone.
thinking about how billie eilish wore a tank top and got called fat when she literally looks healthy— tabitha🍎 (@tabithalucy_) October 13, 2020
Numerous trolls claimed that Billie was fat, others said she had the body of a middle aged woman, however many of her fans jumped to her defence.
One fan wrote:
Billie Eilish is beautiful! PLEASE, do not body shame her, or anyone for that matter. Body shaming is not ‘news’ or ‘gossip’ it’s HARMFUL and UNACCEPTABLE.
But now, Billie herself has responded.
How do y'all hate on someone who's literally giving us MILF ENERGY LIKE THE FACT THAT SHE IS STILL SLAYING IN A TANK TOP AND SHORTS- Love you Billie 💚🖤#BillieEilish @billieeilish pic.twitter.com/uEmjQjvjQR— ♥︎|Sydney|♥︎-♥︎|BLM|♥︎ (@ShogunSista) October 14, 2020
Billie took to her Instagram story, first uploading a video of her walking past her collection of awards and winking, before sharing a video by Chizi Duru about the importance of normalising bodies.
In the clip, Duru says:
Y’all gotta start normalising real bodies, okay? Not everybody has a wagon behind them, okay? Guts are normal – they’re normal. Boobs sag, especially after breastfeeding. Instagram isn’t real.
Cast your mind back a few months and you may remember a video Billie Eilish shared of her taking her clothes off…
The video was shared on countless news sites with most of them praising Billie for the brave video.
In the video, Billie can be seen standing in an over-sized black sweater. In a voice over, Billie is heard calling out all those who body-shamed her in the past.
She can be heard saying:
You have opinions about my opinions, about my music, about my clothes, about my body.
Some people hate what I wear, some people praise it, some people use it to shame others, some people use it to shame me — but I feel you watching. Always, and nothing I do goes unseen, so while I feel your stares, your disapproval or your sigh of relief, if I lived by them, I’d never be able to move.
However Billie was furious at how many media outlets covered the news story, claiming that countless newspapers referred to her as ‘stripping’ which wasn’t actually the case.
First off, I am not stripping. The whole point is that I don’t strip all the way to my bra as it’s gone before you see it – it’s not yours to see. I mean, that s*** is all over Pornhub. I mean, I understand it. That s*** is hot…
