Wrestling Legend Dies After Tragic Accident In The Ring

A Mexican wrestling star has tragically passed away after he sustained a fatal injury following an accident in the ring.

La Parka, who was a superstar in Lucha Libre AAA, died on Saturday from injuries he received two months prior during an awful freak accident.

La Parka, who also went by the name, Jesus Alfonso Escoboza Huerta, injured himself after he performed a leaping dive through the ropes at an opponent in Monterey, Mexico.

However it all went wrong when Parka tragically hit his head on a guard rail before falling to the ground.

Parka broke his neck and underwent emergency surgery to save his life, however while the surgery kept him alive he was left paralyzed.

After battling the injuries for the last few months, Lucha Libre AAA confirmed La Parka was placed on assisted breathing on Friday following signs of kidney failure.

A day later, the wrestling organization announced that Escoboza Huerta had passed away due to lung and kidney failure aged 54.

Tributes have been pouring in for La Parka since the news of his death emerged. Thousands of messages have been posted online by fans as well as other professional wrestlers such as Rey Mysterio.

Mysterio took to Instagram to pay his respects to the great wrestler.

Our thoughts go out to Escoboza Huerta’s family and friends at this hard time.

Rest in peace.
