One of the great hopes of college basketball, Keyontae Johnson, is in critical condition after collapsing hard mid-game on Saturday.
Johnson, who is one of the biggest names in college basketball and was expected to have a huge career in the NBA, collapsed during a game for the Florida Gaters vs the Florida State Seminoles.
Johnson had just scored and was celebrating with teammates, but when their huddle broke, Johnson hit the court incredibly hard as his teammates cried out for help.
He was immediately put on a stretcher and rushed to a nearby hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.
Johnson tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this year and according to TMZ, it appears one of the side effects was myocarditis, inflammation of the heart muscle.
Head Coach Mike White tweeted:
Please keep praying for Keyontae and his family. We all love him.
Let us all hope Keyontae makes a full recovery and can continue his career in college basketball.
Get well soon Keyontae.
