Tony Hawk Announces Return Of Pro Skater On His 52nd Birthday

Well, here’s some absolutely outstanding news to brighten up everyone’s quarantine.

No, this is not a drill. This is legit as f**k news, broken by the man himself on his 52nd birthday.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2, two of the greatest games ever committed to consoles, are being remastered for Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC.

The first two games in the legendary franchise are being combined for their modern day remastering and will be developed by Vicarious Visions ahead of a 4th September release.

The remastered release features 4K HD, online and local multiplayer, and most of the songs from the original iconic soundtracks. All of the original pro skaters and all 19 levels from the original Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 & 2 will be available too.

Vicarious Visions CEO Simon Ebejer said of the soundtrack availability, “Right now I’m excited to talk about having tons of music from the original soundtrack including some of my favourites like Goldfinger, Rage Against The Machine, Anthrax, Public Enemy,” he explained. “With regards to trouble getting all the songs… you know, it’s been 21 years.”

“Music licensing has changed in that much time, so some of the licensers can’t even be tracked down. But we’ve done a great job getting as much of the original soundtrack as we possibly can. So I think that fans are gonna be so stoked. They’re gonna get to hear their favourite tracks from the original and I’m really excited.”

Yeah, we might need a cold shower to calm down from this news.
