Rapper Fred The Godson Dead Aged 35

Iconic rapper, Fred The Godson, has tragically died, aged just 35.

News of the 35-year-old’s death broke with people paying tribute to him on social media.

At the time of writing, thousands of posts have been dedicated to the legendary New York rapper.

While people continued to hope that the rumors of his death were not true, a rep for Fred the Godson later confirmed his passing.

Fred was one of the leading figures in New York rap for over a decade, having his big breakthrough back in 2011 when he appeared on the XXL Freshman cover alongside the likes of Kendrick Lamar and Mac Miller.

During his successful career, Fred collaborated with Diddy, Meek Mill, and Pusha-T among others, and remained prolific until his death, reports Complex.

Although he was one of the hottest stars in New York, Fred refused to sign with any label, wanting to remain independent.

He was well known for free-styling on hip hop radio stations in New York and YouTube channels.

Our thoughts go out to Fred The Godson’s family and friends during this hard, hard time.

Rest in peace.
