George Floyd was killed by four Minneapolis PD officers last week after being pinned to the ground because the police had received a report stating he had been committing forgery in a nearby store.
Officer Derek Chauvin pressed his knee onto Floyd’s neck for over eight minutes, starving him of air as he uttered the word “I can’t breathe” repeatedly.
Chauvin has since been arrested and charged with third degree murder and manslaughter. He is currently on suicide watch in Ramsey County Jail in St Paul, MN. His wife has also filed for divorce following last week’s atrocity.
George Floyd’s funeral is set to take place on June 9th.
