Going to your favorite fast food chain is usually a great experience for everyone. You’re craving your usual burger, fries or wrap and that first bite is the BEST!
Well.. this lady’s recent experience at KFC left her feeling “disgusted” after finding what she called a “mouldy” piece of chicken in her meal. YUCK!
Julie Gardner was visiting her local brand of the fast food giant when she made the awful discovery.
Julie had purchased a one-piece Snack Box via the drive-through, excited to tuck in, when she opened her meal she found a piece of chicken inside was that was “mouldy”.
The moment she saw it she said she felt “physically sick”.
“I went to KFC and bought a snack box.
“The chicken in it was mouldy – I was sick – and it stunk as well. “It also looked like it had maggots on it and been left out.
“It smelt off. When I saw it and and smelt it I was sick.”
Julie went back to the restaurant to find someone in charge who could sort this out for her.
When she spoke to someone she thought was the manager she said the person was “very apologetic” and gave Julie her money back.
They also revealed that the chicken would be sent off for ‘examination’.
Julie then rang the branch to follow-up on the incident and was actually told that the person she had spoken to was a team leader and not a manager.
Since then she found out that the team leader had no authority of sending the fried chicken off for investigation.
“I went straight back and I spoke to a manager, but I later found out they weren’t.
“I said to them ‘what do you call this’, they were really apologetic and gave me my money back.
“They were a team leader and not a manager.
“They were going to send it off (but they had) no authority to send it off.”
When Julie decided to ring the KFC complaint line, she received an email telling her they were sending her case to an investigator. She hasn’t heard anything else since.
“It was disgusting – I will never be going back to KFC again.
“I don’t normally go, but I just went in on this day.
“I will not be going back.”
