Ryan ToysReview is a family-run Youtube channel that has generated around $22 million in pretax income from June 2017 through till June 2018, according to Forbes.

This estimate puts Ryan’s channel above famous faces such as Jeffree Starr and Jake Paul, who are both 2 of the wealthiest Youtube stars in history.

Ryan’s channel currently holds 22.1 million subscribers and has gotten a combined 26 billion views.

The channel started back in March 2015, when Ryan was just 4-years-old. Ryan would watch videos on Youtube, and he asked his parents why he couldn’t make videos of himself reviewing his toys.

Ryan ToysReview started out slowly until a July 2015 video went viral. The video featured Ryan opening and reviewing a box containing more than 100 toys from Pixar’s “Cars” series – it now has close to 935 million views.

The channel now reviews new toys on the market and kid’s food products, and they usually feature an earnest and enthusiastic commentary from Ryan with off-camera guidance from his parents.

According to Reuters, Ryan struck a deal with Walmart earlier this year to sell a toy line named “Ryan’s World” that would be exclusive in over 2,500 US stores.

Ryan’s World was the first merchandise to be sold after Pocket.Watch, a children’s media brand that negotiated licensing deals for several online video stars.

But the family didn’t bank in the millions overnight. It took a lot of hard work to build the channel to what it has become today.

Ryan’s family has been very smart, and they have also had incredible timing. His parents once said that they mostly film the raw videos on the weekends and that they do the editing and production required while he’s in school.

The videos’ success was enough to get Ryan’s ToysReview into some special YouTube programs that provide higher ad rates, and the family has also apparently worked out some direct deals with sponsored or branded videos.

The toy industry is a huge business and they realized that Ryan could make them a lot of money.

The family’s hard work has earned them a very comfortable living, and they have made Ryan a global sensation and a huge part of millions of childhoods!
