Zoe Kravitz Cast As Catwoman in ‘The Batman’

Exciting news for fans of the Caped Crusader, as it’s been announced that the role of Catwoman has finally been filled. It’s confirmed that the coveted role is going to Zoe Kravitz – and the internet is excited.

Earlier this year, it was announced that Twlight’s Rober Pattinson would be taking the role of Batman in the upcoming Matt Reeves movie – and almost immediately, speculation began as to who would be playing his love interest. And now we know, people can’t wait to see these two hotties getting up close and personal.

It’s reported that in the final stages, the role of Catwoman had been narrowed down to Zazie Beetz of Joker, Eiza Gonzalez of Baby Driver, Alicia Vikander of The Danish Girl, and Kravitz. But it seems the daughter of Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet wowed filmmakers the most.

You probably best recognize Kravitz from the smash hit HBO drama Big Little Lies, in which she plays the bohemian “cool mom” Bonnie. But Kravitz has a varied filmography, having also starred in Harry Potter spin-off Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them in 2016. This isn’t her first foray into the superhero genre, either – in 2011, Kravitz played Angel Salvadore in X-Men: First Class. Kravitz has also played Catwoman before – in the critically acclaimed Lego Batman Movie.

But that’s not the end of Kravitz’s talents. She’s a successful model, having fronted campaigns for Vera Wang and graced the covers of Venus and Elle. Kravitz is also a successful musician. As frontwoman of R&B and electropop band Lolawolf, she’s supported the likes of Lily Allen and Miley Cyrus, alongside playing a ton of music festivals.

The internet has responded pretty positively to the news. Kravitz seems to have just the right mysteriously cool demeanor to take on the iconic role.

But that’s not all. The fact we get to have our screens graced by two of the most attractive people working in Hollywood right now doesn’t seem to have gone unnoticed.

Pre-production on the movie is set to start next summer, and filming is expected to start in late 2020. With this latest casting announcement, we’re sure many fans are counting down the days already.
