Taylor Swift Is Named Artist of the Decade at AMAs

The American Music Awards were held yesterday, and as always, they were pretty incredible.

There were many winners this year, including Billie Eilish winning the New Artist Of The Year Award, Khalid winning Favorite Male Artist, BTW winning Favorite Duo/Group, and Cardi B winning the Favorite Hip Hop Artist Award.

But it was Taylor Swift who was the true winner this year by not only winning 6 awards in total, but also winning the Artist of the Decade Award.

In total, Taylor has now won twenty-nine AMA Awards, which has actually beaten the record holder – Michael Jackson – who held 24 Awards to his name.

The Artist of the Decade honor was announced well before Sunday night’s ceremony, but Swift also scooped the biggest prize of the night, Artist of the Year, from Drake, Ariana Grande, Halsey and Post Malone.

Before she accepted her Award, the twenty-nine-year-old followed a video retrospective of her career to date with the performance of a medley of some of her biggest hits.

She then performed in a white button-down jacket featuring the titles of her earlier albums, including Speak Now, Red and Fearless, and on a piano that was also inscribed with the titles of these albums, and then during her acceptance speech, she said the honor celebrated 10 years of “hard work and of art and of fun and memories”.

She added: “All that matters to me is the memories I have had with you guys, with you the fans, over the years.”

Watch her acceptance speech for yourselves here… and of course, a huge congratulations to the well-deserved Taylor!
