Stephen King ‘The Outsider’ Looks Like The Next Must-Watch TV Show

Stephen King truly is a writer that just keeps on giving. When he’s not sharing his amusing grumblings about Trump on Twitter he is surprising us with yet another classic story.

He writes like no-one else and invents characters and worlds that are unlike anything we’ve seen before.

As of now, King has written at least ninety-five books. Ninety-five. And of course, many of those are adapted into movies and T.V. shows.

Stephen King is behind some of the most iconic movies of the past fifty years…

To this day Stand By Me (1986) remains one of my all-time favorites. It was actually based on the short story The Body written by King in 1982.

The Shining was written by King in 1977. The best-selling book became the iconic Kubrick movie that spooked cinema-goers in 1980.

King published the crime-fiction, thriller The Outsider in 2018.

HBO quickly snapped up the rights to the story and commissioned a ten-part series.

With an all-star cast, including Jason Bateman, Ben Mendelsohn (Captain Marvel), Paddy Considine (Peaky Blinders) and Cynthia Erivo (Widows) we can expect knockout performances across the board.

Bateman is also directing the series. With his recent Emmy win for directing Ozark, this project is certainly one to watch out for.

The narrative follows Terry Maitland, a man who is accused of murdering a young boy. The police have enough evidence to charge him, with witnesses and security footage tying him to the crime.

The only problem is that Maitland was genuinely sixty miles away at the time of the murder.

How could he be in two places at once?

This ten-part series is guaranteed to have us all second-guessing ourselves. With enough twists and turns to have us in knots and plenty of shock revelations that will have us perched on the edge of the couch.

The Outsider will be available as of January and has already been deemed the most highly anticipated series for 2020.

HBO has finally released the trailer, which gives us an indication of how much of a cinematic masterpiece this series will be.
