Netflix Is Dropping Six New Original Christmas Films

While the festive period is a time for visiting friends and family, good food and of course, presents, it’s also the time for grabbing a mug of hot cocoa and cracking out the Christmas movies.

Fancy a rom-com? It’s definitely Love, Actually. After a more family-friendly flick? You can’t look past The Grinch or Elf. Or what about everyone’s favorite… Home Alone?

But for many of us Christmas fanatics, there’s nothing better than getting our teeth into a fresh batch of festive content.

Well, it seems Netflix has come to the rescue, announcing that it will be releasing six new original Christmas films during the festivities.

We have admit – they all look painfully cheesy. But that’s always the best, right?

1. The Knight Before Christmas

Starring High School Musical alum, Vanessa Hudgens, the movie chronicles a medieval English knight as he is magically transported to the future and falls in love with a high school science teacher.

Next up is the sequel to 2017’s ‘A Christmas Prince,’ although this time, you guessed it… there’s a royal baby on the way.

The new movie will follow Amber and Richard as they host royals from another kingdom to renew a “sacred truce,” but of course, things don’t go quite to plan and an ancient curse may threaten everything.

3. Klaus

This one is definitely for the kids. The animated family adventure starring Jason Schwartzman and Rashida Jones, tells the story of failing student postman,  Jesper, who befriends toymaker Klaus.

4. Let It Snow

Based on the popular novel of the same name by Maureen Johnson, John Green, and Lauren Myracle, the movie is pretty much your generic, cheesy romantic film with a festive twist.

Set on Christmas Eve, the movie follows a group of young people who are brought together by a snowstorm.

5. Holiday Rush

The movie follows a single dad and radio DJ Rashon “Rush” Williams, who loses his job right as his four spoilt kids pen their costly Christmas lists.

As his producer and aunt rack together to try and keep Rush on the air in New York, his family learns how to embrace a simpler life over the holidays.

6. Holiday in the Wild

If you’re expecting glitzy decorations, extravagant trees and all-out holiday magic, then this movie probably isn’t for you.

Starring Kristin Davis (Sex and the City) and Rob Lowe (Parks and Recreation), ‘Holiday In The Wild’ centers on a recent divorcee who travels to Africa to reconnect with herself. But while there, she meets Rob, who works at an elephant sanctuary.
