Jamie Lee Curtis Is Returning To Start Filming ‘Halloween 2’ This Fall

In the 2018 film ‘Halloween’ Jamie Lee Curtis returned as her character, Laurie Strode.

Laurie is a traumatized badass grandma who has prepared to fight Michael Meyers for decades.

In the previous film, Michael Meyers breaks free from confinement and returns to Haddonfield for another killing spree on Halloween night.

Danny McBride and David Gordon Green, the creators, had huge success with the 2018 Halloween film.

With a 79% rating on Rotten Tomatoes the film made $255 million worldwide on a budget of $10 million, crazy.

A sequel is a must when a movie makes a profit of $245 million in today’s struggling box office climate.

It’s been reported that Halloween 2 will start filming after Labor Day, with a release date of October 16, 2020.

The 2020 Halloween 2 is a sequel to the 2018 Halloween… which was a direct sequel to the 1978 Halloween… a little confusing!

Greer and Andi Matichak will reprise their roles as Laurie’s daughter and granddaughter with David Gordon Green writing the script and directing the film.

McBride’s original plan was to shoot two Halloween movies consecutively:

“We were going to shoot two of them back-to-back,” McBride told Entertainment Weekly in June 2018. “Then we were like, Well, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. This could come out, and everyone could hate us, and we’d never work again.”

“So, let’s not have to sit around for a year while we wait for another movie to come out that we know people aren’t going to like,”

“So, we were like, Let’s learn from this, and see what works, and what doesn’t. But we definitely have an idea of where we would go [with] this branch of the story and hopefully we get a chance to do it.”
