Exciting news for Black Mirror fans as a teaser was released on the show’s official Twitter account, with the caption:
“You should’ve seen it coming.”
From the trailer the show will be focusing on the relationship between humans and technology, with notions or love, family, security, sex and work, all under the microscope.
The trailer shows characters from a robot doll and a lonely teen to a dissatisfied husband who reaches out to a Tinder-esque dating app.
Hollywood names in the show include pop star Miley Cyrus, Avengers’ Anthony Mackie, Aquaman’s Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Topher Grace all making an appearance in the trailer.
Fleabag’s Andrew Scott is also in the show, sitting in a car during a tense stand off with the police.
This comes after the first still from the fifth season was released earlier today, showing Anthony Mackie and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in a tense face-off.
The show’s creator Charlie Brooker said:
“It’s the Marvel-DC crossover no one saw coming.”
Not much is known about the plot lines for season five.
Brooker has said in the past that it will offer fans a much more positive outlook on life.
“We’re doing more optimistic episodes and stories, rather than just dystopian and negative ones. We want to keep the show interesting for us.”
‘Hang the DJ’, the fourth episode of series four, finished with a focus on love which left many feeling refreshed.
Eager fans have been waiting since December for the return of the hit show.
The last outing for Brooker and his team was choose-your-own-adventure film, Bandersnatch, which allowed viewers to decided how the story unfolded.
TV critic and writer Brooker said:
“It kept expanding, even when we were in pre-production. We deliberately pushed what was going to be possible. The story outline crashed.”
