Harry Styles has caused a little bit of a stir on Twitter recently as he announced that he would like to throw his name into the hat to play the next James Bond.
The former One Direction member appeared on UK’s Hits Radio with presenters Fleur East and James Barr who discussed a range of topics with the singer. And when they moved onto his newly-formed acting career, obviously the question about who would be replacing Daniel Craig as James Bond popped up.
When asked, Styles replied that he would totally be up for the role because it’s “everyone’s dream.” He said: “Yeah, I mean, who wouldn’t?” he replied. “I grew up watching those. You know, I loved him when I was a kid. So I think it’s kind of everyone’s dream a little bit, right?”
The news comes after Daniel Craig announced that he would be retiring the role as our favorite British spy. While rumors surrounding the role hinted that we may be having a female 007, the fan-favorite to take the role is none other than Tom Hiddleson. Others have suggested that Henry Cavil has a good shot too.
However, since Styles announced that he would definitely consider it, people have been analyzing if he would be suited for the role. His minor part in Dunkirk has been the center of attention, with people commending his skills. However, even though we know he is a talented man, the internet has decided they would rather see another Brit take on the role.
Sorry, Harry! Nonetheless, we’re excited for his second album Fine Line to drop on December 13th.
