Yes it’s true! The Japanese video game giant Square Enix has just released the official name of the new Avengers video game, which had previously been referred as ‘The Avengers Project’.
Having been rumoured for a while Square Enix announced the superhero game will be called…wait for it… Marvel’s Avengers.
Not a huge surprise but it’s still exciting!
The reveal was announced via Twitter though the full news will be taking place during Square Enix’s E3 showcase in June.
Square Enix is publishing Marvel’s Avengers, while Crystal Dynamics also known for creating Square Enix’s Tomb Raider series will be the game’s developer.
Crystal Dynamics website said:
“The Avengers project is being designed for gamers worldwide and will be packed with all the characters, environments, and iconic moments that have thrilled longtime fans of the franchise”
“Featuring a completely original story, it will introduce a universe gamers can play in for years to come.”
A post on the Square Enix site urged game lovers to join them on Monday 10 June at 6pm for the Square Enix Live E3 2019, which will showcase ‘an exciting line up of titles’.
Fans are already excited for the game.
“Here’s hoping it’s on the same par as Spidey.”
“FINALLY. I’ve been waiting so long for this!!!”
A third commented:
“The rumors are true and the wait is finally over. About goddamn time, I’m so excited for this. You wouldn’t really call this a most anticipated game because it’s been like 3 years and still nothing but at the same time it is.”
“The fact its called ‘Marvel’s Avengers’ and Insomniacs game is called ‘Marvel’s Spider-Man’ gives me hope that they are in the same universe – it’s a stretch I know but I can hope!”
