Bella Thorne Wins PornHub Award For First Adult Movie

Bella Thorne first made a name for herself starring in Disney Channel movies like Shake It Up, and Netflix teen movies like You Get Me. But the outspoken star has made a dramatic career change in recent months. Rather than acting in more … traditional roles, she’s decided she wants to break on to the adult movie scene.

But her role might not be quite what you expect – rather than starring in anything X-rated, Thorne is flexing her directorial muscles. She announced her upcoming adult movie project earlier this year in a video explaining her decision.

“What inspired me to do the movie was basically thinking about this relationship between a male and a female and this fight over dominance and how much that relates to us in our general world besides in a sexual scenario.”

She promised her movie wouldn’t be like the standard PornHub fare.

“My vision originally actually was to make a Christmas horror movie. And instead I made a very beautiful, ethereal, neon type of vision. Sometimes you got into it thinking that you want something specific, and then you totally change your mind and you don’t go with that idea at all.”

Thorne also spoke of the challenges she faced on set – and how rewarding she found the experience. “The process of shooting was quite interesting because we had real-life f***ing on set, which I have never shot before. Also this was my first short in general, so it was quite an interesting experience to have the first thing that I really fully directed have so much sex in it. It is quite a fun environment.”

And Thorne’s “a modernistic, sexually explicit Romeo and Juliet-like depiction of two star-crossed lovers who have an unbridled sexual longing for each other” seems to be a palpable hit. This week, Her & Him won a coveted Vision Award at the 2nd Annual Pornhub Awards. Not bad for a twenty-two-year old first-time director!

Other big winners at this year’s ceremony include pornstars Abella Danger, Johnny Sins, Lana Rhoades, and Jordi El Nino Polla. Congrats, to all the winners, including Bella – and we’re glad your risky career decision paid off!
