Since the release of the smash-hit Star Wars spin-off series, The Mandalorian, the internet has completely fallen, head over heels, in love with the baby version of Yoda, The Child… Or Baby Yoda, as people have suitably nicknamed him.
The O.G Yoda died in Return of the Jedi aged 900-years-old, but his infant, fifty-year-old self has returned to our screens in Disney’s latest adaptation of the franchise… And people just can’t get enough of him – making him something of an internet sensation and pop culture icon.
And now it looks like a baby Yoda emoji could well be on the cards, as a petition has been launched to get Apple to make the popular character an emoji.
“I think Baby Yoda should be an emoji,” petition starter Travis Bramble explained.
“He stole our hearts and now I want him to steal our keyboard space. Your friend shares a pic of her newborn baby? Respond with a cute little Baby Yoda emoji to show that you think her little rascal is cute beyond words. You’re sick and your mom texts you ‘Do you want some soup?’ Respond back with a cute little Baby Yoda to show her that your thirst for soup is insatiable. Join me [in] this movement and let your voices be heard. WE WANT BABY YODA EMOJI!!!”
And it seems to be something a lot of people on Twitter are on board with too.
“If we don’t get a baby yoda emoji imma raise pure f**king hell,” wrote one fan.
“I need an emoji of baby yoda @Apple thanks,” added another.
The petition was launched just 5 days ago and is already gaining traction meaning it could well surpass its goal of 2,500 signatures very soon.
Fingers crossed the big bosses at Apple make this happen… we need it now!
