After garnering a strong fanbase, The Boys has been awarded a coveted second season. The superhero-inspired TV series is an Amazon original that has seemed to have captured the hearts of a dedicated audience who, after watching the first season, have been craving a second.
Despite the world of superheroes being incredibly saturated, the unique twist of superheroes being treated like celebrities became a topic of interest amongst internet users. The show quickly gained popularity for its accurate portrayal of a fictional concept so much so that it is considered Amazon’s best original series.
Adapted from a comic book series titled the same name written by Garth Ennis, the show features some of our favorite actors including Chase Crawford and Karen Fukuhara.
It is described as: “an irreverent take on what happens when superheroes, who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians and as revered as Gods, abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good.”
Bringing fictional characters into modern society is a simple but interesting concept, so no wonder it caught the attention of fans worldwide.<
Apparently it was so good that the second season was already determined before the first even hit our screens so it was clear that they were expecting positive results. And lo and behold, that’s exactly what they got. Even though the second season’s trailer was initially deleted by Amazon Prime, Twitter users managed to get their hands on a little snippet.
Season 2 is rumored to be premiering in 2020 so now, the waiting game begins…
