Tim Tebow is way more than a talented sportsman. Alongside impressive careers is both football and baseball, there’s another passion in the thirty-two-year-old stars life – dogs. Since he first received his Rhodesian Ridgeback stud Bronco as a congratulatory gift for his Denver Broncos pick, it was love at first sight. In fact, he even named his pooch after his team.
“For so many people, [dogs] are our best friends and they provide so much joy and love,” he told AOL.com.
But after nine years of love, Tebow had to make the heartwrenching decision to have Bronco put down this Wednesday. He bravely shared the tragic moment on his Instagram – along with a collage of all the times he and Bronco shared.
“One of the toughest goodbyes. Wanted to make a special tribute to the sweetest boy ever — thank you for all the joy you brought and all the memories,” he captioned the post. “Aunt Patty, thank you for loving him, and thank you to all the other people including Miss Shea and Miss Mindy for sharing so much love with Bronco. If you had the pleasure of meeting Bronco, one of the best dogs ever, I would love to hear your story.”
Tebow also shouted out SEVO-Med, Blue Pearl Vet and UF Small Animal Vet Hospital, who had taken care of Bronco. We know this decision can’t have been easy, and we’re sending our thoughts to Tebow during this sad time.
