Kanye West has spoken out against his former attitude to dressing daughter North.
“I don’t think North should wear crop tops just because I had her wearing a slip dress when she was two years old,” Kanye told Zane Lowe on Apple Music’s Beats 1 radio.
“I think and feel differently now, now that I’m Christian, now that I’m the founder of a three-billion-dollar organization and married for five years,” the rapper added.
West’s wife Kim Kardashian West also spoke about her daughter’s experiences with makeup. “North is trying to get in on the makeup, but she’s being blocked heavily because her dad has stopped all makeup for her until she’s a teenager,” the businesswoman said.
“It’s a big discussion, a big fight in the household right now, but it is what’s best.”
And at a recent event to promote her new makeup line, Kim even shared that she’d gotten into trouble for letting North put some slap on previously.
“I’d let her wear — you know, she has a little red for Christmas — I’d let her wear a red lip, or I’d let her do one pop of something. I’d let her, if she’s wearing a black dress, a black lip” she said, adding, “So I kind of got in trouble for that.”
Kanye has already made his feeling known regarding his wife’s Met Gala dress, which he deemed “too sexy.”
“Like the corset, underwear, all that vibe, I just feel like I just went through this transition from being a rapper, lookin’ at all these girls — and looking at my wife,” he said. “Like, ‘My girl needs to be just like the other girls, showing her body off, showing this, showing that.'”
“I didn’t realise that that was affecting like, my soul and my spirit, as someone that’s married and loved and the father of now, about to be four kids,” he continued. “A corset is like, a form of underwear, it’s hot — it’s like, it’s hot for who, though?”
Kanye gonna Kanye, I guess.
