Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last few weeks, news about Caitlyn Jenner has been living in the Australian jungle for the British version of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here has been dominating the showbiz headlines.
This is Caitlyn’s second time in the jungle after taking part in the U.S version back in 2004, and this time around has proven to be slightly tough for the former Olympian.
Despite Caitlyn sailing her way through the dreaded bush-tucker trials, she has had a few emotional moments when feeling home-sick and missing her children and grandchildren.
Her girlfriend, Sophia Hutchins, who is waiting for her in their home in Malibu, has spoken out on British TV about Caitlyn’s appearance on the show.
Speaking on breakfast show Lorriane last week, twenty-three-year-old Sophia said, “It hasn’t been easy to watch at all when there is someone who is across the globe you kind of feel helpless to begin with.”
“When you throw in these challenges and she is crying, it has been gut-wrenching to watch. The producers take away everyone’s phones so we don’t have any way to contact her. It’s tough,” she admitted.
Sophia has been running Caitlyn’s Instagram account since she left for the jungle, and aside from Kim Kardashian, she has been the only in Cait’s family to acknowledge her jungle appearance.
Sharing a selfie with Caitlyn’s 9.5 million followers, Sophia wrote: “Hey guys it’s @hutchins_sophia While @caitlynjenner is in the jungle for @imacelebrity we are all rooting her on here in the USA!! Go CAITLYN!!”
