A kitten with two faces, born in Oregon, has died only four days after coming into the world, despite putting up a brave battle.
Biscuits and Gravy was born as what is known as a ‘Janus Cat’ and was part of a litter of six kittens delivered last Wednesday.
The kittens owner, Kyla King, shared B&G’s progress over the next few days, but it was tough going, as both faces needed feeding and Biscuits’ head was too big for his body.
Biscuits passed away after nearly four days of natural causes, with the sad news being shared on instagram.
The post was captioned, “This photo was taken about an hour before Biscuits died. Kyla gave up 3 1/2 days of her life to put all of her efforts into saving him. He was born with the longest of odds and by living nearly 4 days, he beat those odds.”
“We thank all of you who have been so kind, prayed, and wished the best for Biscuits and Gravy. So many of you care and wanted to follow his progress, and said some very nice things to and about us. We will never forget your kindness!”
Janus Cats typically don’t survive very long due to suffering a plethora of internal complications. However, one named Frank & Louie (or Frankenlouie) did live to be 15-years-old, before passing away in 2014.
