It’s no surprise that Panda’s are some of the most adorable animals in the world, with their unique bear looks and cute personalities. The animals are extremely gentle and lovable, you just want to give them a big hug!
It’s extremely sad but true that that they’re very much endangered it’s been reported that they only have a population of 1,864.
These lovable cuddly creatures are considered a national treasure in China. A non-profit breeding and research facility ‘The Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding’ cares for giant pandas and other endangered animals.
It was founded in 1987 in Chengdu, China, with the aim to keep this beautiful species alive, and increase their population.
When the facility was first built, it only housed six rescue pandas. Today, just over one hundred pandas are born in The Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding each year.
Since female pandas only give birth to one cub every two years, this panda “daycare” uses the best and safest ways to increase their population.
It doesn’t stop there! There are other panda bases in China, and some of them, like the Dujiangyan and Wolong bases are now accepting daily volunteers to help take care of pandas, cleaning and feeding them, and it’s probably the experience of a lifetime.
